Notification Channels
SyncID can send automated notifications when important events occur — such as a device going offline, a health check failing, or a sync error. Notifications are delivered through channels that you configure.
Accessing notification settings
Section titled “Accessing notification settings”Navigate to Settings → Notifications (requires Admin role).
Supported channel types
Section titled “Supported channel types”| Channel type | Delivery method |
|---|---|
| Sends notifications to one or more email addresses via the configured notification service | |
| Microsoft Teams | Posts notifications to a Teams channel via an incoming webhook |
Creating a notification channel
Section titled “Creating a notification channel”- Click Add Channel
- Choose the channel type (Email or Teams)
- Configure the channel:
- Email: Enter the recipient email addresses
- Teams: Paste the incoming webhook URL from your Teams channel
- Give the channel a descriptive name (e.g., “IT Team Email” or “Operations Teams Channel”)
- Select which events should trigger notifications on this channel
- Click Save
Notification events
Section titled “Notification events”Each channel can be configured to receive notifications for specific events:
| Event | When it fires |
|---|---|
| Device Offline | A device has been unreachable for 3 consecutive checks (30 minutes) |
| Device Recovered | A previously offline device is back online |
| Health Status Change | A health check changes status (e.g., Healthy → Degraded) |
| Sync Failure | Attendance record delivery to SyncrOne has failed |
| Time Sync Failure | A device’s clock could not be synchronized |
You can assign different events to different channels. For example, send device offline alerts to the IT team’s email and sync failures to the operations Teams channel.
Testing a channel
Section titled “Testing a channel”After creating a channel, click the Test button to send a test notification. This verifies that:
- The email addresses or webhook URL are correct
- The notification service or Teams integration is working
- Messages are being delivered
Enabling and disabling channels
Section titled “Enabling and disabling channels”Each channel has an enable/disable toggle. Disabled channels stop sending notifications but retain their configuration. This is useful for:
- Temporarily silencing alerts during maintenance
- Keeping a channel configured but inactive until needed
Managing channels
Section titled “Managing channels”From the notification settings page you can:
- Edit a channel’s name, recipients, or event subscriptions
- Delete a channel you no longer need
- Enable/disable channels individually
